Lovable, kind of corky looking, medium sized white dog with spots all over. And the spots are really, really all over!

Spots everywhere! In fact if you open their mouth, you might be surprised to see that they actually have spots on their mouth.

But guess what, when they're born, they have no spots. Dalmatians are actually born all white, and then the spots develop as they mature. You know they are cute mass scottish. Believe it or not, George Washington was the first breeder for dalmatians that we know in the united states. Dalmatians.. it is the dog most famous for riding along on the fire truck. I would have to guess that firemen like to hang out with dalmatians because they are great attention grabbers. Most firemen grab my attention but... the dalmatians are really what is appealing. It is the dog hanging with the clientsdale protecting the beer. And it is the dog who hit the big time with Disney's 101 dalmatian movies.

But with the dalmatians fame came a price. Owners getting the dog thought they would be just like the sweet loving creature they saw in the movies. but guys, that's hollywood. There's ...
... a lot of indescriminate breeding of puppy male type stuff. There are issues with temperament and aggression. But not all dalmatians are problem dogs. With the right breeding and training, these eye-catching animals can be great pets.

The dalmatians origin are actually little bit hazy. it is really an ancient breed. Some people think that it may go all the way back to egypt.

In the beginning, those polka dot hounds were bred for war, and as guard dogs. These society dogs went from protecting rich people, and horse-drawm carriages, to protecting horse-drawn fire trucks. Although they don't run along the sides of firetrucks anymore, they basically are perfect mascots for the fire house.

These dogs really stand out. First, the very obvious, the spots on their coats range from the size of a dime to a half-dollar. Ever wonder how many spots a dalmatian can have? Well, that vary two: from just a few, to total spot coverage.

Dalmatians have selective hearing. So you may be calling them over to you, and they may not hear you. Meaning, they can be stubborn. But on the flip-side, dalmatians are easy to groom, and can fit to a persons active lifestyle.

Training can be easily done with the aid of invisible fence batteries.
