The Subaru BRZ Is Turning On The Heat

Subaru BRZ is very exciting to drive because of its sharp handling and brusque responses. It is very well equipped and affordable. The Subaru engine is a 2.0 litre four cylinder unit which produces 197bhp and goes from 0-60mph in 7.0 seconds. The engine comes mated with a six speed manual gearbox or you can opt for a six-speed auto. The Subaru BRZ doesn’t absorb lumps and bumps easily as it has a firmer suspension. It corners very well on fast speeds due to its low centre of gravity and efficient steering. When you turn off the traction control and put your foot down, the BRZ becomes an ever more exciting car to drive.

The BRZ is not an elegant coupe at all. The gearbox is clunky and noisy and road noise is a big problem. The standard low-rolling-resistance tyres also create embarrassing amounts of tyre squeal when just pulling out of your drive. The BRZ has been given the charge to take on the Audi TT and Peugeot RCZ but it will not hold on to its value like them. Subaru claims it will return 36.2mpg which means the BRZ will cost you more to run than its competitors. It ...
... also has higher C02 emissions meaning higher tax bills.

Subaru has a very good reputation for reliability and the BRZ’s cabin is completely made from tough-wearing plastics. Subaru’s remarkable ETC aftercare package comes as standard. The BRZ comes equipped with an outstanding amount of safety equipment. There are seven airbags and stability control is standard. You also get electronic engine immobiliser, anti-whiplash and alarm as standard. The BRZ has a low-slung driving position due to its bulky sports steering wheel and brilliantly supportive sports seats. The Subaru BRZ is better than its sister car, the Toyota GT86.

There’s lots of space in the front of the BRZ, but the back seats are not really useful. There is not that much head and legroom and foot space is really tight. The boot is sized at 243 litres and the back seats are better to be used as extra luggage space. The BRZ comes in two trims; SE and SE Lux. The entry level vehicles come with climate control, keyless entry, alloys, cruise control, Bluetooth phone connection and electric front windows. The SE Lux has heated seats trimmed in leather and Alcantara. The BRZ is definitely more than able to take on its rivals like the Audi TT, BMW1-Coupe and even the Porsche Cayman.
