A Faq Guide To All On 4 Houston Dental Implants, Part 4

This series has been dedicated to answering some of the questions the patients considering fixed oral rehabilitation frequently ask Houston dental implants and the “All-on-4” technique. So far, we’ve explained exactly what All on 4 implants are and how the procedure works. We’ve taken a look at the difference between this breakthrough protocol and (1) removable dentures and (2) traditional dental implant techniques. And, in our previous article post, we addressed some of the aesthetic and functional concerns frequently raised by patients.
In this article, the fourth of the series, we shall answer a few final questions on the “All on 4”: the revolutionary dental implant procedure giving patients new teeth in a day!
FAQ: How much do All on 4 implants cost in Houston?
Answer: The cost of fixed oral rehabilitation using this advanced implant protocol varies from dental clinic to dental clinic. It will also depend on your particular case and jaw bone health. However, an approximation ...
... can still be applied. To replace an entire upper OR lower dental arch, it’s about $35,000. To replace both the upper AND lower dental arch, the cost is $50,000. Remember, for straight-forward cases, this is an average $25,000 cheaper than traditional dental implant techniques and, for more complex cases, $45,000!
FAQ: Does it hurt to get new teeth in a day with the “All on 4” method?
Answer: Typically, no. You will be anesthetized for your implant surgery, so you won’t feel or remember a thing. Once the anesthesia wears off, you will be given prescription pain killers to help manage any post-operative pain, which most patients find tolerable in any case. In short, pain is not something you need to worry about and if you are concerned, you can always speak to your implant dentist about it.
FAQ: Do I need to take time off to have my new teeth placed?
Answer: You will need to take at least one day off for the procedure itself. But it is generally recommended that you book yourself off for three or four days, just to be safe. Most patients who have undergone the “All-on-4” feel ready to go back to work the day after the procedure. Dentists recommend that you take two or three days off to relax, recover and allow your body the rest it needs to get a good start on healing.
FAQ: Is there anything I should avoid doing if I’ve had new teeth placed with dental implants?
Answer: Yes – in the first few weeks following your surgery, you should:
You shouldn’t smoke or chew tobacco (ever)
You should avoid strenuous exercise
You should avoid eating hard, fibrous, crunchy foods
During the few weeks following your procedure, your jaw bone will be bonding with the surface of the implants. By staying away from strenuous exercise and hard, crunchy foods, you’ll give your jaw the respite it needs for these delicate bonds to heal successfully.
A Final Note Before we Close…
If you have any questions that haven’t been addressed in this four-part article series, don’t hesitate to ask your dentist or implant surgeon. It’s also always worth getting a second opinion if you’re told by one dentist that you’re not a candidate for “All on 4” implants.
