Amsterdam is located in the west of the Netherlands and is the country's largest city. Also, it is the capital of the country. It is the 5th most frequented tourist destination in Europe. A small city, but magnificent in history, art and the promise of wonderful adventures, The city is very fascinating, warm and glamorous. It is the example of a very international city with commercial ties to the global economy and immigrant ties to the Caribbean, Africa and Asia.

Amsterdam, due to the ocean, has a cool climate. Winters are very chilly having temperatures most of the time under 0 degrees, and at night it even falls below -5 degrees easily. The summers are hot but most of the time just temperate. The summer temperatures commonly range from 20 to 30 degrees. Rainfalls are frequent in Amsterdam a the city enjoys rainfalls for 175 days on average throughout the year.

Museums are the main tourist attraction in Amsterdam. Everyone knows the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum, but there is much, much more. Amsterdam has over fifty museums which attract many millions of visitors every year.

It is a walkable city which has much to offer sightseers. Touring can be done on foot or by bicycle, a popular mode of transportation. You can view some of over 7,000 registered historic buildings, including two medieval wooden houses and the Oude Kerk, or Old Church, dating from 1306.

Amsterdam has a natural flora and fauna consisting of beautiful plants in Vondelpark and the great animals in the Artis zoo like the zebras, lions, tigers, and chimpanzee etc. The kids are really passionate about watching the animals. Shopping markets Dam Square and Magna Plaza offers a good collection of clothes, accessories, eating items, etc. The city is famous for its flowers, specifically its bulb flowers. One can enjoy the colorful splendor of daffodils, tulips, and hyacinths.

Enjoying the nightlife in Amsterdam is the next important thing to do in the city. There are various clubs, casinos and bars where you can have all the charms of the nightlife. Expensive wines, rocking music and dance are the features of a thrilling nightlife in Amsterdam.
