Weddings are the reflection to Indian society and are considered as one time celebration in the lives of both the bride and the groom. Sindhi matrimony is incomplete without the colors of poetry and celebrated in a very enthusiastic and lavish scale. These are somewhat similar to Hindu marriage. Amongst the Sindhi community, there are special priests known as Mehraj who focus in matchmaking and a Guryanni who carry horoscopes of eligible boys and girls from house to house. The day for Sindhi wedding is usually fixed on an auspicious day such as the Satyanarayan Chandsi or the New Moon day.
