The Highly Improved And Evolved Synthetic Turf

Synthetic turf has been in vogue since quite a while. It has been used to revolutionize the whole sports arena as the synthetic or artificial turf looks just like grass and are widely used for outdoor sports. It is only now that it is also being widely used in commercial and residential lawns too. Although artificial turf is now being used predominantly, it also has certain drawbacks like periodic cleaning requirement, limited life, heightened safety and health concerns, and much more. However, overcoming the shortcomings, artificial turf is now popularly used.

There are basically three generation turfs:

First Generation- This is made out of different types of synthetic fabric. It came with the nylon base which was highly comfortable. Since it was very soft, players were subject to less amount of risk. The first generation turf, when closely packed in the carpets, are used by people in every household.
Second Generation- This has a flatter surface than what a plain surface of natural grass can provide. A more useful surface, the turf provides better ball control so as to deter ball from getting shot out ...
... from unexpected directions. There was a time when there was world wide acceptance of second generation turf; but now with the advent of third generation turf, it is being accepted by all.

3rd Generation Turf- This turf is now compared to the other two generations. This comprises of longer fibers that are spaced further in the carpets. The turfs in it are not made of polypropylene but of polyethylene. This is even softer and also much kinder to the skin. The spread is embedded with rubber granules with sand. The combination of infill and fiber makes it more comfortable for the players for a softer surface.

Hence, the 3rd generation turf is better than the other two generations due to certain improvised features.
