Beginners’ Guide To Playing The Paolo Soprani Accordion
The Paolo Soprani, also referred to as the “Old Grey”, is an Irish accordion that is held in high regard by the traditional musicians in Ireland during the 1940s and 1950s. However, it was taken off the market by its makers which lead to great disappointment among the traditional music lovers. Now that it has been introduced again, the traditional music lovers have taken to learning to play the instrument again. The modern Paolo Soprani accordions have been modeled on the old version of the musical instrument and also produce the same musical sound. It is light and portable and it a result of skilled craftsmanship.
Search on the internet to get some guidelines about how to purchase a Paolo Soprani accordion. Contact your friends, family members and acquaintances who know how to play the instrument. Following guidelines will help to learn to pay the instrument:
• Sit on a chair and support the accordion on your left knee. It is best to hang it from your shoulders with the straps that are usually provided with the musical instrument. These straps are adjustable so that you can adjust them according to your height and comfort level.
• The “melody side” or the reads of the instruments that produces music should be on your right side. The keys resemble those of a piano. The white reads are notes ranging from A to G while the black once are sharps and flats.
• The buttons on the left of the instrument are bass buttons. Use the fingers on your left hand to play them. As the buttons are not visible, the once that are used the maximum, like A flat fundamental bass and C fundamental, are marked prominently.
• The right finger should be used for playing the basses, the middle finger for the chords and the index finger for the minor chords. Alternatively playing the basses and the chords is what produces unique music. Bellow (compress and expand) the instrument to produce different tones.
