Pen plotters- They are the most sophisticated type of plotters. In these, pens are used to produce very fine lines. They are also very long-lasting and bear reasonable price tags.
Flat-Bed Plotter – This is a mechanical drafting machine, in which pens of different colors are moved across the paper, keeping the latter stationary. The size of the graphic diagrams depends on the size of the plotter’s surface on which the paper is set.

Plotters cannot function at their optimal levels, in the absence of proper papers and pens, which are used to produce maps and graphs. The width, length and weight of these papers can vary.
