4 Days Authentic Kenya
Day 1, 2 and 3: Maasai Mara National Reserve

The drive from Nairobi to Maasai Mara takes you through the Great Rift Valley - a geological fault line of colossal proportions. You will get an opportunity to look at this phenomenon from a spectacular viewpoint. Continue west for Maasai Mara Game Reserve, and on arrival you will check-in at the Mara Sopa Lodge or similar - your safari base for the next three nights. A post lunch game drive will make you realize why this reserve is labeled Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary with over 450 species of animals having been recorded. The famous migration of game between Tanzania and Kenya takes place during the months of July, August and September when the massive herds of wildebeest and zebra struggle across the Mara River. Many fall prey to crocodiles and lions - creating a chaotic swirling mass of animals in their Darwinian rush for survival.

The next two days will be filled with game drives but there will be time for two must do options: A sunrise hot air balloon trip and a visit to one of the villages of the famous tall and elegant Maasai tribesmen who live within the game reserve. During the game drives you will look for black-maned lion for which the Reserve is famous, cheetah, hyena, buffalo, rhino, wildebeest, zebra, leopard, and a wide range of buck. The Hippo pools are another highlight - you will see herds playing in the shallows, grunting in displeasure of being disturbed.

Day 4. Maasai Mara to Nairobi

After a healthy lodge breakfast you game drive your way out of Maasai Mara for Nairobi arriving in the afternoon but in time for most flights out of Nairobi International airport.
