Tips For Maintenance Of Cabinet Furniture & Chairs
Installing a new cabinetry for the entire house or buying new sets of chairs for different rooms is quite an expensive affair and you would obviously not want to empty your pockets by spending the same volume of money quite often. A more sensible option thereby would be to maintain effectively the one-time bought cabinet furniture and chairs through proper cleaning and necessary repair works. Constant use can wear out the wood work and the cabinet designs can lose their freshness. Your main target should be to rejuvenate the cabinet designs so that the furniture looks new again. This can be done through proper maintenance and cleaning. The same theory applies to the chairs you have bought for your house.
Here are some cabinet & chair maintenance plus cleaning tips:
• If your cabinet furniture is a wood cabinet, you first have to know what wood variety it is; i.e. whether hardwood or softwood. Generally cabinets are made of hardwood. To maintain the beauty of a wood cabinet, whether they are kitchen cabinets or a wardrobe cabinet or a TV cabinet or file cabinet you should dust it periodically with a soft piece ...
... of lint-free cloth. Often you will notice grime collecting around the woodworks or designs on cabinets. By periodical dusting, this will not happen. There are various types of kitchen cabinet designs. Some though wood cabinets have major sections bearing laminate works. The laminated portions should be polished once in a month or two with top quality, non-greasy furniture polish.
• Often our cabinets receive stains that are very much removable then and there but we are too lazy to make any effort. This is very wrong because old stains are too stubborn to get removed. Staining is very common in case of kitchen cabinets because there could be spice spills or water splashes. So remain handy with a moist cloth. It is not usual also for your other cabinets such as wardrobe cabinet, TV cabinet, file cabinet or even rack cabinets to get stained for example if someone touches them with soiled hands. So you have to keep yourself always ready. Do not use bleaches or ammonia-based cleaners on cabinets with enamel coats or metallic finishes like modern day file cabinets or rack cabinets
• Now let’s pay attention to the maintenance of chairs-sofa, the most must-have chair for almost every house is very susceptible to wear and tear because people use it the most or better to say ‘overuse’ it. Whether it is a single sofa chair or a double chair, its life tenure on your care and maintenance. If you have a wooden sofa chair, use a delicate soft rag for dusting the wooden portions. Take a cotton swab and clean the dust that has collected between the wood and the material. Then vacuum clean the sofa upholstery material
• For maintaining the beauty of an iron chair, cleaning again is necessary. Wipe the chair, every nook and swirl of the chair where dust might collect with a moist cotton rag. Then use a mild detergent solution for wiping.
• Instead of using harsh chemicals to clean wooden dining chairs, its best to use either lemon oil or a solution of water and baking soda.
