The rise of GetJar has triggered apps to use its service in order to conveniently benefit individuals who do not want to use real world cash. GetJar allows customers to download specified apps sponsored by GetJar to 'purchase' apps without resorting to real currency. GetJar has been so successful in fact, a lot of applications are now using it. However, there is a downside to using the service. More and more apps are resorting to the service. Customers may value this partnership while others may see the partnership a hindrance altogether.

Yet, with the introduction of GetJar, the Go Launcher store has deteriorated exponentially. More and more of their themes require the special GetJar coin to download. Hence, customers were required to go to the Google Play store to download irrelevant apps to receive these coins. Some apps offer 5 coins, while others offer 10. Most noticeably, the themes in the Go Launcher store require around 100 to 150 coins.

Assuming customers would have to download over 10 apps to receive 100 GetJar coins. This type of business model worked well when the service began in early February. However, downloading apps to get this particular currency has become a nuisance. Some customers may enjoy this collaboration as they do not need to use real world cash to buy virtual assets. By simply installing the designated apps, receiving the coins and deleting them, they were willing to do so because it is free. However, for those who prefer downloading additional theme add-ons, GetJar and the companies they are partnered with would intentionally drive away customers rather than keep them.
