History of Short Message Service (SMS) Text Messaging began in late 80’s.
When the very first SMS was sent from a computer of SEMA GROUP Engineer on the mobile phone of Voda phone Director Richard Jarvis on the festival of Christmas, the message which he sent was “Merry Christmas”. That’s how the technology of SMS messaging was first introduced.
Then in early 90’s it was publically launched. Earlier the SMS messages were limited up to 160 characters, but as the time passes it increases and now you can send SMS messages in Kilo bytes (KB).
As the technology of SMS messages improves people become more familiar with SMS technology, and it began to grow outstandingly.
SMS messaging now a day become so common that in the survey of 2010 people around the world has sent over 6 trillion in 2011.
Now a day’s most people use SMS messaging instead of greeting cards to wish their friends. Relatives or love ones on different occasions like Christmas, New Year, Birthday, Anniversaries and others.
