The Audi A4 2004 Engine Is A Masterpiece

The 2004 Audi A4 saloon is one of those cars which you would like to own rather than drive it. There is no doubt it is a great car to drive but it is even better to own. For a start, the cabin is brusque, fashionable and oozes class. It is built to a high class level with all the kit you need, as well as ample safety gear. It’s spacious too, but the transmission tunnel takes some comfort from the middle rear passenger, so think of it as a roomy four-seater. The boot has a decent luggage capacity, same as a 3 series and marginally bigger than a C-Class’s. One thing that is noticeable about the Audi’s is there refined characteristics of being long-distance haulers and how they lessen the effect of bumps and potholes, not quite as well as the C-Class.

The steering could have done with being more agile where as both the front-wheel drive and Quattro four wheel drive systems have good grips in corners. The Audi A4 offers a wide choice of engines. The basic Audi A4 2004 engine is a 1.6-litre petrol engine. Both front wheel and Quattro four wheel drive systems are available ...
... and come in three versions; basic, SE and Sport. The best all round engine choice is the 1.9 TDI 130. If you want something a bit stronger, the 1.8-litre turbo petrol is fast and supple, and the V6s diesel and petrol are sophisticated and unproblematic.

The 2004 Audi A4 is cheaper to insure than its rivals. The cheapest to insure, the 1.6 litre is the group 10. The economical engines contribute to low running costs but, best of all, the A4 holds its value well as it gets old, so it'll be worth a large amount when it's time to sell it on. You can now see why we said earlier that it's even more rewarding to own than to drive. Audi have always had a good reputation for making solidly engineered cars and the A4 is not immune to this reputation as it is very well built.

The 2004 Audi A4 has performed very well in previous JD Power customer satisfaction reports and was one of the best cars in What Car?’s reliability Surveys. However, it has faults such as faulty air-con, which Audi fixes under its three years warranty. There have been problems reported with the synchromesh on manual transmissions, front suspension on a few higher mileage cars and ignition coil on 1.8 turbo petrol cars. A small number of cars also suffer from small electrical faults. None the less, The 2004 Audi A4 is a reliable luxury saloon and gives a hard time to its rivals.
