Ways From Pune To Bangalore

Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka, and Pune, a major industrial city are well-connected by rail, road and air.
The distance between Pune and Bangalore is about 1145 km. The travel time on road is about 17 hours. One option is to drive all the way from Pune to Bangalore. The huge distance between the cities does not stop driving aficionados to try their hands at the wheels. It is better not to drive at night as this route is frequented by heavy vehicles. One of the best highways, the NH 48 connects the cities of Pune and Bangalore. Some of the cities one has to pass through on the NH 48 are Khandala, Satara, Kohlapur, Belgaum, Hubli, Chithradurga, Tumkur and finally terminating in Bangalore. Being a main route, petrol pumps and hotels are found on the way.
There are several bus operators, both private and government, that provide services from Pune to Bangalore. Though tiring, a lot of travellers prefer the bus journey. Sleeper buses are more convenient as they run overnight from Pune and Bangalore and cost Rs. 2000 onwards per traveller.

There are a number of train services daily available that connects Pune to Bangalore. The Chalukya Express (11017) departs from the Pune Junction at 1:10 am and reaches Yeshwantpur Junction at 8:50 pm taking a travel time of about 19 hours and 40 minutes on all days except Wednesdays. The Rajkot Express (16613) departs from the Pune Junction at 10:30 pm and reaches Krishnarajapram station in Bangalore at 4:20 pm taking a travel time of about 18 hours and 40 minutes only on Sundays. The Okha Ahmedabad Ac Express (19406) departs from Pune Junction at 7:30 am and reaches Yeshwantpur Junction station in Bangalore at 6:20 am taking a travel time of about 21 hours and 20 minutes only on Sundays. The Vivek Express (19568) departs from Pune Junction at 10:55 pm and reaches Krishnarajapuram station in Bangalore at 4:20 am taking a travel time of about 17 hours and 25 minutes only on Fridays. The Sampark Kranti Express (12630) departs from the Pune Junction at 11:20 pm and reaches Yeshwantpur Junction at 6:20 am taking a travel time of about 18 hours and 50 minutes on Thursdays and Saturdays.
Air travel is also an option to travel from Pune to Bangalore, as both the cities have airports. There are non-stop flights daily operating from Pune to Bangalore by different airlines like Kingfisher, Indigo, GoAir, Jetlite and Spicejet to choose from. The flying time is around one and a half hours.
