Did you know that there are over 2,100 contaminants in drinking water alone? Contaminants can result in a wide range of diseases for humans and animals when the water is used for consumption. In commercial use, these pollutants are not only harmful to the facility and machines, but also to the people working there, and to the final product. This could mean heavy financial losses, not to mention a hit to the company’s image. For these reason, it is important to ensure that water is pure and safe.

Water filters provide better tasting and better smelling drinking water by removing chlorine and bacterial contaminants. For personal as well as professional use, you should consider using ionized water. This is where pH meters come into the picture.

pHORP meters test the latent energy contained in water. However, just like all other electric meters, water pH meters need to be calibrated. There are many solutions for calibrating these meters, but not every solution is necessarily ideal for accurate calibration. Also, these solutions typically ...
... have very wide tolerances, ±35 mV or more, for the actual values one can expect when checking their ORP.

For this reason, you should use a specialized electrode cleanser. To quickly check if your ORP measurement system is working properly, simply take a reading of your tap water, and then take a reading of the same tap water adding an equal volume of bleach. If yourtest of the bleach and water mixture gives higher readings, the pH and ORP tester is working.

In case of a salinity tester that doesn’t work well, you need to use offset adjustment to achieve proper calibration. Using the offset adjustment, or relative mV adjustment, will aid in eliminating a 15 mV difference, and could also help in reading up to 310 mV. This is in full compliance with all protocols, and eliminatesany confusion from inaccurate measurements. When further readings are taken, they will be comparable to those from the old electrode and meter system.

You should also consider using an effective calibration machine for this process instead of a manual solution. Doing so is faster, but less accurate. Always test water to ensure that it is clear of any contaminants before use.
