Indulging in a hobby is a great way to have a great life after retirement. This simply means creating something you love doing and holding dearly to it. It could be playing tennis, golf, or fishing. What's important is NOT to always be idle just because you have retired.

Volunteering at your local charity or helping in the community is one way to keep your life busy after retirement. Retirement could really be interesting if you think of things to do. It only becomes a headache when you choose to fold your hands, watch and do nothing.

Most people see retirement as pain. Their major reason is the sudden change of a busy life to a lonely one. However, if you plan well what you are going to do with your life, there will never be a dull moment, even in your retirement years.

There are many myths making the round about retirement. One of them is that retirement is an event that occurs on the last day of your career. This is certainly not true. It is simply a new phase of your life that doesn't call for excess stress.

You need not be scared of retirement. It can be the best time of your life if you take ...
... the time to plan and save. So, start working towards it now by saving part of your earnings.

Who says that life has to stop simply because you are retiring and are getting older? Retirement is not about living a sedentary life. Retirement is simply having more time on your hands to do the things that you may have always wanted to do but simply did not have enough time for.

When you retire, engage in any kind of work you are passionate about. It could be something you were doing while still working; for example-- art, painting, craft, computer, home repairs and so. Just do something. Don't idle away or you will grow older than you really are.

Before you retire you need to think of certain things like - Where would you want to travel to when you retire, what kind of house you want to live in and what's the exact life style you would prefer to live, etc. These questions will guide you towards planning for your retirement.
