ECDL stands for European Computer Driving License. ECDL training is one of the IT training courses, which is recognized all across the Europe. The certificate of ECDL training is very well recognized by both private and public enterprises based out of Europe. Currently ECDL Course are being used by millions of users all over the world. An ECDL course consists of several units. These units are divided as per the section of computer they focus on. In total, all the units focus on various aspects of using computers such as word processing, basic accounting, mailing, security options’ settings etc.

Let us discuss the entire ECDL course, unit by unit-
Unit 1 is beginners’ lesson. This unit is focused towards making a new user friendly with the computer. In this unit a user understand the basics of computers. A user may get to know about various operating functions such as how to switch on a system and how to use mouse and keyboard etc.

Unit 2 of the course enables a user to work with words files. A user gets to know how to create a word file, how to save and retrieve them. A user comes across several word document related tools such copy, insert, paste, layout etc. Sound knowledge of word documents is a must for all computer users.

The 3rd unit improves the efficiency of a user in accounting by introducing him with spreadsheets. A spreadsheet consists of several worksheets each worksheet consists of vertical and horizontal cells. These cells may consist of alpha numeric values are linked with each other in certain order or formula.

The 4th unit makes user much smarter. Through this unit a user gets to know about the security issues of using a computer. He gains skills to secure data from all sorts of possible threats such viruses, Trojan horses etc.

The 5th unit focuses on making user, internet friendly and teaches them how to send and receive emails etc. The 6th unit gives presentation skills to the users. A user can then create digital presentations including texts, pictures, graphs, pie charts, animation and music.
