This team also comprises of an extremely important personnel, the proof reader. He actually is the scanner for all the documents passed through strict language considerations to make it ready and finally approved.

Poof reading on one hand is systematic and other hand is very careful reading to look for any errors in the translated document. Each language is specific for its terms and expressions. Some words that a German translator would translate in English may be correct in German but possibly may not be in English .Here the proof reader check and recheck against the original document to finally bring it to an apt meaning. Although the spell checker software on your computer is good enough to locate errors or mistake in language. But again if any word is not in its memory it is difficult to say that a mistake has been made. A human when read and understand the ...
... document, rules out the possibility of any errors.

So here are some excellent techniques to start as a proof reader in English, French or German translation service:

1. Although not recommended by proof readers as trustworthy still the spell checker system in your computers could halve the correction work. This is the first tool to sieve the document. Next the remaining words are checked that spell check couldn’t. You don’t have to accept all the changes a spell check makes, think over before accepting the change.

2. The mistakes are small to escape from your view and so concentration to each line is important. Thus any sort of distraction is not allowed.

3. Working from a paper copy rather doing it on computer screen is better. Though it looks old fashioned but it becomes handy and doesn’t stress your eyes too.

4. Clearing mind before starting a proof read job is advisable. This involves taking sufficient time for break to sit at fresh for proof read.

5. Reading out loud the document makes the expression in document clear. It makes you clear of the way languages sounds and check for if any redundancy has appeared in the document.

6. Backward recheck from end to start helps concentrating word by word whole document.

7. Dividing the whole process in parts viz. spelling then punctuation and then language choices helps you go slow and know the problem areas.

8. Checking twice or thrice after corrections is advisable.
