You bought a foreclosed home for investment and have it repaired or renovated. Now it is time to sell the property and you know that you can dispose of it immediately and get a sizable return of your investment through the help of a real estate broker.

But where do you find real estate brokers who are professionals? Get yourself a real estate brokers listing in your area. Majority of professional agents or brokers have their own blogs. Read them to learn about their personalities, specialties and skills before contacting them.

Here are tips for choosing the best real estate broker:

Choose at least three brokers to interview. Require them to submit three references.

Learn about real estate brokers work experiences. Stephanie Singer of the National Association of Realtors points out that a broker develops his skill while on the job.

Find out and compare the number of houses each candidate broker had sold the previous year. Also inquire about the quality of customer service that they provide.

Check the amount of time it takes for them to sell a property. Did it take him 5 months, 10 months ...
... or even a year before he was able to sell a property? The swiftness of selling a property is a good indicator of a brokers overall ability.

A good broker can help his clients set the best market price for their homes. A broker may make price suggestions but in the end, it is always you, the seller, who have the final say over the matter. Singer recommends comparing the final sale prices and the initial asking price.

Learn about each brokers marketing ideas and strategies and his business style. Does he communicate with his clients regularly? Does he update his clients on prospects?

Hiring a home real estate broker does not come for free. Discuss with each candidate agent his up-front fee. Expect to pay as much as 6 percent commission.
