The Vauxhall Astra GTC – The New Icon

The Vauxhall Astra GTC CDTi is a three-door coupé, with 1956cc four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, six-speed manual gearbox and front-wheel drive. It has 165 bhp and produces 258 lb-ft of torque achieving a top speed of 131mph. The 0-62 mph value of the GTC is just 8.9 seconds. The fuel economy is 49.6 mpg and CO2 emission is 127g/km. Four engine choices are available in GTC: two turbo petrol in 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre capacity, and two turbo-diesel engines in 1.7-litre and 2.0-litre. A forceful presence is created through the aerodynamically fine tuned trapezoid grille and the front signature chrome bar. Smoothly profiled head lamp clusters and daytime running lamps underline it. Astra’s muscular appearance is highlighted by the sill-mouldings styling the sides and wheel arches over 18-inch wheels. There are two trim levels to choose from: Sport and SRi and both are of high quality and feel real good. Black cloth interior is featured in the Sport version of Astra GTC whereas black or red are available in SRi. For the ergonomic sports seats, sliver stitched and piped soft Nappa Leather interior is also available. Although the Astra GTC is a true blood sports coupé yet it is designed for day to day use. There is an easy access to the rear and front seats and the cabin is quite spacious as well.

The standard equipments like air conditioning, CD/MP3 player with stereo radio, USB connection, Aux-in Socket included in the Astra GTC make it a fun to drive coupé. Electronic stability programme (ESP) ensures a safer ride. The front windows are electrically operated. Cruise control is also available and central deadlocking is remote-controlled. Audio controls are mounted on steering-wheel for ease of access while driving and steering column is also adjustable. The Vauxhall Astra GTC is armed with remote control alarm system too.
