In Nigeria, education is given a lot of importance. It is administered by the Ministry of Education. Education is mostly free in the country and aided by the government. Their education system consists of four main layers, primary school, junior secondary school, senior secondary school and university. The tenure at primary school is six years, junior secondary school is three years, senior secondary school is also three years and university education is that of four years.

The rate of attendance for secondary school is 32 percent for males and 27 percent for females, which is rather poor for a nation. The Nigerian National Planning Commission, in 2004, said that the education system in the country was highly dysfunctional. The main reason for the major dysfunction is decaying institutions and graduates that are ill-prepared. These days, we all know how important education is. Education plays a very important role in shaping our careers. Students in Nigeria struggle to find good jobs as the education they receive is not good enough for a job that pays well.
