Many products today claim to be green. A "green" product can mean a lot of different things, and some companies take liberties in how far they stretch the definite of green. Some products are directly helping the environment, while others help in different ways. Going green when buying kitchen cabinets is not the first thing you might think of, but it is something to keep in mind.

RTA products, such as RTA kitchen cabinets and RTA bathroom vanities have been developed to offer the consumer a cost effective option for furnishing a kitchen or bathroom. These products also help the green movement by consuming less space during transit time and they use almost all of the natural resource, while leaving minimal waste at the end of the assembly. Consuming less space may not seem like a significant contribution, but it adds up to be something very considerable. In the shipping industry, size counts for space. All RTA products like RTA kitchen cabinets are shipped in small, almost flat boxes, thus taking up a much smaller footprint on a cargo ship. This space is then multiplied by millions of small, flat boxes. Then ...
... you multiply this by the cargo ships that carry RTA products. In the end it adds up to a significant amount of space saved. This translates into more products being loaded onto fewer ships and in turn causes less pollution because a smaller amount ships need to be charted to carry these RTA products. It adds up at the end of the year and translates into real energy savings.

RTA kitchen cabinets and RTA bathroom vanities use real wood fronts or faces and paneled wood sides. These paneled sides make up the waste that is found after the products are manufactured. To the average consumer, it looks like a regular paneled side of a cabinet. Strong, sturdy and similar to ordinary wood; but in fact it is the by product of all the scraps that would traditionally be thrown away or burned. RTA kitchen cabinets and RTA bathroom vanities use all the material found in the manufacturing process, thus making a more efficient product.

The best method of finding these RTA products is online. Retail stores sell RTA cabinets along with assembled cabinets, but you will be paying thirty to forty percent more. Online stores sell RTA products at a much lower cost because these online retailers carry far less overhead (Overhead expenses, like an actual brick and mortar store). While internet sites (the good RTA kitchen cabinet sites) carry a large amount of the product but less overhead because these sites only warehouse the items and do not have the cost associated with a retail store. This translates into huge savings for the online shopper and adds convenience because you do not have to leave your house (the product is delivered right to your door).

So remember to look online for RTA kitchen cabinets and RTA bathroom vanities. Shopping is convenient, you're saving gas money and saving time by not going from store to store. It will save you money in renovation costs and you will be contributing to the green movement in ways you might not have thought of.
