Facial blushing happens to all of us at one time or another. You are asked to speak in front of a large audience or accidently do something embarrassing and all of a sudden, bang! Your face is bright red like a lobster. Facial blushing is no gradual, but is rather sudden. A particular event or circumstance causes people to blush in their face. Some of the most common reasons of blushing of the face include speaking to another person, speaking in public and simply being in a large crowd. Even though those individuals who blush may be aware that they are blushing, though they cannot physically control it. Unfortunately it may be handicapping or severely hurting them in the work or social environment that they have entered. Many see blushing as a sign of being embarrassed and sometimes that does not bode well when meeting someone for the first time or in a circumstance where confidence is a key. Sufferers of this facial blushing can often times experience other problems, which include prolonged facial heat or a bright red glow, which may make you appear to be sick. That is never a good thing when trying to make a first impression ...
... or even a positive impact on people who you socialize with.

Social phobia is the main cause of facial blushing so if you can take care of the social phobia, then you can most likely take care of the blushing. The opposite is also true however, social phobia can lead to more blushing and it becomes a never-ending cycle. When that happens, there is trouble and it becomes hard to enjoy even the simplest of activities. Some people use avoidance methods in order to prevent themselves from being embarrassed. This is never a good strategy as it only makes the problem worse and as most can attest to, it is never a good thing to live your life in fear.

Even though there are a lot of problems and issues that can result because of facial blushing and social phobia, there are numerous ways to prevent, protect or correct the problem. Most problems are solved when they are addressed at the surface rather than hidden. If you have blushing or extreme social anxiety, you must admit this at the beginning and be willing to work with others and make changes in your life to combat the problem that prevents you from succeeding or excelling in certain things. The good news is that social anxiety along with blushing can be corrected and can be corrected relatively quickly.

There is a very minor surgical procedure called ETS that can be performed. This minor surgery greatly combats the signs are facial blushing, palmar hyperhidrosis, axillary hyperhidrosis, facial sweating, palpitation, tremor and cold hands. Even though ETS does not directly affect the cognitive aspect of social phobia, it does prevent the typical signs that put people in that never-ending cycle. This improved ability to enter a social situation without the typical signs of fear and nervousness can greatly help individuals retain the ability to have confidence and approach social situations very differently than they did before. ETS combined with CBT can make a world of difference and you may be able to see a completely new and changed person after the procedure and work is done.
