Filling a glass of water from your kitchen faucet or using the outdoor tap for watering your plants would be a regular, daily routine for most. Simple, cause this water is considered non polluted and pure as it is processed by the supply company. However, did you know that what you drink or use, may actually be harmful for health, and in extreme cases even fatal?

Yes, as shocking as it sounds in spite of the purification process carried out by suppliers, your faucets may haveaccumulated bacteria and lead from the pipes through which it is carried. In fact, most old pipes that have been installed in the 1970’s or 80’s might have high percentage of lead, which in turn increases the level of vinyl chloride, a carcinogen, into water. Or maybe even a few of the latest constructions have lead based soldering within the pipes.

Along with this, regular flow of water may corrode the pipes cause it to be a breeding ground for bacteria. Not to mention the number of germs and insects that grows in stagnant water tanks. This again may be harmful for growth of plants as well as adverse to the health of the consumer. This ...
... is why you need to invest in quality potable water testing kits.

With these effective water quality test equipments you may be able to check the water coming from your faucets or outdoor taps and even indoor wells. This will help you decide if the water is fit for consumption, agriculture and most importantly industrial use. However, water testing can get expensive, though, since there are so many substances you could test for. Here are a few suggestions to help you narrow down the list:

Water quality tests are essential for just about everyone irrespective whether you home is newly constructed or old. Especially, if your water company is not testing for some substances that you are concerned about, you may want to have your water tested for those substances.
• You may even want to check for chorine, disinfection, THM levels, pesticides, fertilizers, insecticides and more. But, this would depend on your water source as well as the area you stay in.
• In a heavily industrialized area it is essential that you test the water for toxins and chemicals.Along with nitrates and bacteria.

Depending on the contaminates you may choose to simply get a filter, boil water or purify the entire system. It’s best to take professional help in extreme levels.
