It all depends on who your target market is.

Also, social network users tend to be a hard sell - you have to be cautious here and not just come off as a salesperson. Introduce your product or service subtly instead of just trying to advertise in the traditional sense. You have to have the best product and be able to motivate your fellow social networking users.

Let's consider that your service is something unique and most of the people does not want it. It's pretty hard to suppose setting up a community on Myspace all around that kind of a concept and hope to get people to your site, as people frankly aren't concerned in that unless they have a want for it right at that second.

To run through, in the business lead generation, or business traffic generation area, I suppose that social networking sites are less dollar productive than most of the other strategies we're talking about today. If you had to choose, I would advise focusing on other strategies first
