Q: Is canned food fine for cats? I was told it is terrible, and that I should simply feed my cat’s dry cat food only. That is what I have been doing.

A: We’re hooked on controversial issues similar to this. I’m sure that despite of what I reply public will strongly oppose.

Dry cat food is excellent for:
• Cats having dental problems. Dry cat food, particularly the recommendation dental dry foods, generates some abrasive act on the teeth when it is chewed, and as a result slows down the rate that tartar builds up on the teeth.
• Skinny cats. Dry food has a tendency to have extra calories than canned food; hence dry food would be helpful for cats to increase weight.
Canned cat food is fine for:
• Skinny or nutritionally challenge cats, which need to put on calories, since canned cat food smells more firmly and attracts cats.
• On the other hand from the above, heavy cats. Canned cat food contains fewer calories and is preferable for weight loss.
• Cats with urinary problems moreover do greatly when fed a canned food. Cats with constipation problems also ...
... do better when fed a canned food, as these foods hold extra wetness.
A lot has been written regarding dry cat food, carbohydrates and feline diabetes. A lot of inhabitants think that cats mainly on a dry cat food diet are at increased threat of diabetes since it contain high carbohydrate elements. The carbohydrate substance of the dry foods is not to blame, for the growing occurrence of diabetes in cats. Dry foods are a lot further liable to cause fatness in cats, and it is the fatness that affects cats to diabetes.

I believe that the quality, not the specific food, is most significant. Feeding a small amount of canned natural cat food in the morning and evening, and including a little dry food out for the cat to nibble on during the day is a sensible move toward; cats prefer to have multiple little feasts right through the day, and people who work the entire day are reasonably unwilling to leave canned food out all day for their cat.

Cats that become fat or develop urinary problems must reduce their dry food. Cats with a tendency for dental problems should be fed a recommendation dry diet, preferably. I personally am not a Proposer of “raw” diets; however that’s a different (Debatable) subject completely.
