The hotel was designed by the renowned Chilean/Bolivian architect Melvin Villaroel and is a magic citadel of interconnected Moorish buildings with burnt terracotta buildings. The Abama resort is situated in Guía de Isora in Tenerife, Spain. Guía de Isora is a municipality in the western part of the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands, and part of the Santa Cruz de Tenerife (province). Guía de Isora is north of the Tenerife Sur suburb.
On Tenerife's West coast, the region of Guia de Isora offers several beaches to enjoy, some sandy some pebble. Alcala beach is particularly popular with windsurfers.
