Pumps are essential for moving liquids or gases from one place to another using mechanical force. It is more used in industries for commercial movement of fluids. We can use different types of pumps by applying various methods. Generally it can be operated through the electricity. But sometimes it can also be operated by manually or applying some action of wind or some types of engines.Pumps can be broadly classified into two main categories depending upon the nature of industries in which it is used:

a. Drum Pumps-these low weight pumps are mainly used for transferring fluids from/ to large containers. Barrels, drums and other things can be example of these kinds of pumps.

b. Magnetic Drive Pumps-used for corrosive and aggressive chemicals or acids.

c. Peristaltic Hose Pumps- used for the transfer for sensitive fluids and slurries.

d. Diaphragm Metering Pumps-majorly gets used in accurate chemical dosing

e. Air Operated Diaphragm Pumps- used in the process of transferring flammable fluids
