One of the largest and oldest higher education facilities in the United States is the San Diego State University SDSU which was originally founded as a San Diego school back in 1897. It is a part of the California State University system CSUS. It is the third largest educational project in the CSUS. The famous motto of the SDSU is “Minds that move the world”. The most famous distinctive attribute and field of the university is the “international business”, “entrepreneurship”, “language” and the “geography”. The students graduating from SDSU have promoted a high profile of their university by having distinctions in productive research. This university is ranked among the top university of the nations. They have many recognized academic programs famous all over the globe which includes biology having a top ranking in biological sciences as pronounced by U.S. News & World Report in a survey; business that is among the top ranked programs also mentioned by the Princeton Review; chemistry as in “America’s best graduate schools” by U.S.

The campus of SDSU consists of Aztec Bowl, a stadium which is the only state college stadium in California; the humanitarian building named Montezuma Mesa which was renamed later to Walter R. Hepner Hall; Hardy Memorial tower, a recognizable building of the campus and the university library known as Malcolm A. Love Library which contains more than 100,000 books in it. The Quetzal Hall, the first dormitory, opened for 40 female students and was located off campus was founded in 1937 which is used mainly as the residence hall. There are several branch campuses of the university that are located in different parts of the California state.

There are a lot of schools and colleges associated with SDSU which are not the part of the main campus but they are collectively a part of the university and hence they add to the academic programs of the university. The students studying in the university carry out a lot of activities related to many academic and extracurricular activities on behalf of the university itself. They publish newspapers, magazines which has attained the value of SDSU press, a lot of other media like broadcasting on their own channels is also achieved by the students. They participate in a lot of sports and athletic events. Initially they did not have any coaches or instructors but now they are guided by professional coaches to gain expertise. The sports that are supported by the university are Football, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball, Soccer, Ice hockey, Formula SAE (Aztec racing) and lots of other sports like swimming and squash. There are also student societies and social clubs made by the students that enable many individuals to promote art and also to put forward their capabilities and talent. The faculty at the campus has gained a lot of respect and popularity among the students over the years of services to their noble profession.
