I’ve had some spare time today, and I happen to go inside my dad’s garage and check-up on some of his previous projects. The thing is, my dad’s hobby is woodworking, and instead of his garage being laden with car parts, you can see various woodworking projects, bits and pieces of wood, and the smell of varnish and paint filling the air.

Now, I don’t have that much talent when it comes to my dad’s hobby. But I do find fascination in the art of wood working. Looking back, maybe this is due to the fact that as a kid, I was an avid of Norm Abram’s show, “The New Yankee Workshop.”

I guess thing that got me interested in the show was how easily all the projects were presented. The host itself didn’t have the air of a professional, and I think, that’s the reason why i eased up and took interest in their every project. The way they gave instructions gave me the mentality that even I can do what their doing.

Anyway, it’s been quite some time since their last episode. And I do hope they can come up with new seasons. Sadly, there have been no news as to whether a new season will be made, but then ...
... again, the substance that the show left us is eternal.

My dad is not with us right now, but his presence still lingers in his old workshop. Much like the impact that the New Yankee Workshop has left in the lives of every woodworking hobbyist out there.
