The Perfect Toner For The Perfect Printing
With the invention of computers our life had become easier. And now the accessories associated with computers are making it even easier and simpler. The printers for example are a boon to the creative soul. You can create some art or write an article on the computer screen and get a copy of it on paper as and when you want it. The paper media cannot thank the printer enough for its flourishing existence.
Printers are basically of three types : Dot-matrix printer, Inkjet printer and the Laser printer of which the laser printer is the most extensively used printer in the print media. Although it is more expensive than its counterparts, the laser printer is considered to be more reliable and has better output quality. The laser printer, a non-impact printer, uses a combination of the following processes to print images: electricity, chemistry, magnetism, optics, heat, and friction. After the paper is inserted in the laser printer, the drum gets charged with electro-static charge. The laser flashes and creates an outline of the image on the drum. The toner is then ...
... applied to the charged drum and it sticks to the charged areas forming an image. The drum is finally rolled on the paper and we get the printed paper. So the toner is actually the ink that we see on the page. It comes from the toner cartridge which contains the three essential parts of the printing process – the toner, print drum and the cleaning blade.
The toner is a proportioned mixture of carbon, polyester, and iron particles which does the job of ink. While carbon provides the outline of the image and polyester helps the toner flow from the cartridge to the paper, it is finally the iron particles that make the toner react to the electrical charges and finally help it to melt into the paper. The print drum is the photosensitive cylinder that holds electromagnetic charge before being exposed to light but when exposed, loses its charge. And finally the last piece to the puzzle – the cleaning blade which gets rid of the excess toner from the drum. Konica toner is one of the finest toners available in the market. It is available in both black and colour. The coloured toners are available in cyan, magenta, yellow and black.
Earlier the toner had to be manually supplied to a toner container in the printer, but now it comes packaged in a sealed toner cartridge.
