Road Convenient Option – Bangalore To Wayanad
Bangalore has natural parks, architectural landmarks, flowering trees, shrines, lakes, research institutions and shopping malls to attract the tourists. Bangalore is now a major exporter of information technology. This has earned the city the nickname ‘Silicon Valley of India’.

This sanctuary is an integral part of Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. There is another Wildlife Sanctuary at Muthanga. North Wayanad has a sanctuary exclusively for preservation of birds.
Wayanad has waterfalls at Chethalayam, Meenmuty and Soochippara. Edakkal caves have become popular among tourists. Temple at Tirunelli attracts large number of pilgrims. Pookote Lake is popular among travellers. There is boating facility in the lake.
Among other popular destinations are Pazhassi Raja Museum, Kuruva Islands, Karappuzha Dam, Tiger Valley and Chembra Hills. Misty environs of hill station offer a wide range of trekking opportunities and visits to plantations.
The best way to travel from Bangalore to Wayanad is by road. There is no airport or railway station in Wayanad. The tourists travelling from Bangalore to Wayanad by air or by rail will have to reach Kozhikode first and then travel to Wayanad by road. Train journey from Bangalore will take about ten hours. Journey by air and rail will be both time consuming and uneconomical.
Bus journey from Bangalore to Wayanad will take about six hours. Private and state transport buses are available at regularly intervals from Bangalore. The route passes through Bolare, Bannur, Mysore, Beguar and Sultan Batheri. The taxi car journey takes about 5 hours to reach Wayanad. Taxi fares range from Rs.14 to Rs.45 per kilometre depending on vehicles the travellers use. There are several dhabas, restaurants, ATMs and petrol pumps on this route.
