Easy Way - Bangalore To Kodaikanal
Bangalore is a paradise for tourists with architectural landmarks, natural lakes, gardens and parks. It is an ideal place for job-seekers, particularly in the Information Technology field. The Silicon Valley of India, as Bangalore is called now, is the major exporter of Information Technology from India.
Among the major attractions in the city are Bangalore Palace and Tipu Sultan Palace. Chikkajala Fort is situated on airport road. The city is known for some natural lakes like Hasaraghhatta, Hebbal and Ulsoor.
Bangalore has large number of shrines. St. Mary's Church is the oldest church in Bangalore. Dargah Hazarath Tawakkal is visited by both Hindus and Muslims. Jumma Masjid is an imposing structure. The city is also dotted with large number of temples.
Vidhan Soudha is a major attraction. Lalbaugh, Cubbon Park, Ashoka Pillar, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium and Film City are visited by tourists in large numbers. Bangalore has also the prestigious Indian Institute of Science.

... at an altitude of 7200 ft above the sea level, is known for the unique flowering plant ‘Kurunji’, which blooms only once in 12 years in December. Next blooming of the flower is due in 2018.
Lakes are the star attractions in Kodaikanal. Berijam Lake covers an area of 24 hectares. Boating facility is available in Kodai Lake, which is star-shaped. Adjoining the lake is Bryant Park. Annual flower shows are held in the Park during summer.
Coakers Walk and Green Valley View, which was earlier known as Suicide Point, are viewing points. Other sightseeing centres in Kodaikanal, which is known as the ‘Princess of Hill Stations', are Pillar Rocks, Devil’s Kitchen, Guna Caves, Pine Forest and Kurinjiandavar Temple.
Kodaikanal, a popular hill station in Tamil Nadu, is situated about 463 km from Bangalore. The nearest airport to reach Kodaikanal is Madurai (120 km).
Coimbatore Airport (180 km) is another option. Taxis are available from both the airports. But going by flight from Bangalore to Madurai or Coimbatore and then hire a taxi to reach Kodaikanal is cumbersome.
There is no direct train from Bangalore to Kodaikanal. One has to take a train from Bangalore to Kodaikanal Road station, which is about 80 km from Kodaikanal, and hire a taxi to reach the hill station.
The convenient option is to go by road. Taxi cabs and private and tourist buses are available to travel from Bangalore to Kodaikanal. While taxi will take about eight hours, bus will take two hours more to reach the hill station. The bus fare ranges from Rs.340 to Rs.520.
Accommodation options in the hill station range from high-ends to middle range and budget hotels.
