Looking for computer parts is rather difficult for people due to all the computer-related terms today. Some people may try to buy something they don't even recognize the name or function of, while some are familiar with the name but do not know just what it looks like. Below are simply some jargon that you could come across in your search for computer parts:

OEM & IHV

OEM represents original equipment manufacturer, which pertains to the business that makes computer parts for other computer and IT companies to put together their products. The term is just an assumed name given that the OEM in fact just customizes and re-sells products that carry their licensing, branding, and technical support. Actually, the hardware that OEMs sell is different from those provided by independent hardware vendors or IHVs.

CPU

The most vital hardware that OEMs and IHVs make is the CPU or central processing unit. Many people mistake the CPU for the metal box that has the controlling components of the computer system. The CPU is really only a little chip that consists of information on the whole computer system and ...
... controls its processes.

Motherboard

The CPU is held in the motherboard, which is a big circuit board where a few of the most important components of the computer system are hooked up. The motherboard is also connected with the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and the hard disks of the computer. The Dell Poweredge Motherboard is one example; it is also called a system board.

RAID

Some motherboards are designed to function with a RAID system. RAID means redundant array of independent disks, which is a set of hard drives that allows a user to store info in numerous places all at once. Products like the Dell Poweredge RAID controller makes data recovery much easier to complete, sparing computer owners the worry of losing necessary data like their business or creative works.

Power Supply

Some RAID systems need an uninterrupted power supply to help users to save their work efficiently if power outages occur. The Dell Poweredge power supply tool is created for the RAID system. This keeps the computer running as long as possible, so appropriate shutdowns can be completed. For more info, see Webopedia.com.
