If you have ever decided to entertain guests at your home, whether you have invited friends or family over for a nice dinner, you would know that a fair amount of planning needs to go into the whole thing. If you want to arrange a dinner where all of you can sit down and enjoy a good meal together without any serious hiccups, you will need to make sure that you have everything handy when you are preparing the dinner, and you may even need to arrange for one or two of your guests to bring something along for the evening. If you are busy preparing the dinner and you are out of one of the essential ingredients, then you will need to make sure that you can go out and get some in little or no time at all. If your guest arrives and they have forgotten to bring dessert, then at least you can run down to the local store to get something in no time.

If your local store is out of stock or closed for the day, you will have to get something close by if you are going to get to next store in time. You could always look for local food and wine retailers ...
... online where they are listed in a directory, according to the business type and the area that they are in. All you need to do is figure out what type of store you need, and then search for one listed in your area. If you have already left home to go and get the items you need, then a Smartphone with internet access should be your next best choice. You can look the stores up on the online directory and you can call them up to see if they are still open and if they have what you are looking for. You might just find that a last minute call to another store could determine whether or not you have dessert for you special evening. Emergency food is quite rare unless you are a chef or you are really passionate about cooking, but buying booze on the other hand could definitely turn out to be an emergency on most evenings.

If you are lucky enough to have a retailer close by that is willing to deliver, then you could get it dropped off on your doorstep; leaving you free to focus on the cooking while you wait for more wine to arrive. The internet has changed the way people look for things and that even includes the food we eat.
