Are you one of the many trying to find Human Resources jobs in Houston? Are you finding them hard to get, especially in today's economic climate? Ask anyone wanting to work in Houston in human resources what they are finding out. Try one of the many unemployed human resources specialists what their luck has been in the job pursuit.Even if you do happen to find one of the available human resources jobs in Houston that are out there right now, the expense of living in Houston has gone up to the point that you may find it challenging to even survive on that lower salary that's being offered these days. Believe me it isn't what it use to be!Human resources jobs in Houston - I'll find one soon!Anyone who is looking to establish a career in this area, or has lost a job in their field of choice knows this routine. Don't get me wrong. If you're a seasoned professional you have great skill. I don't doubt that. You're willing to wait patiently a few weeks or even a few months to see if "something opens up". You send out the resume and look thoroughly online for job postings. The selections aren't big. You wait. But the reality soon ...
... hits you AND your wallet. As many unemployed folks have found out, just like I did, that position isn't coming. Weeks turn into months. Months turn quickly into a year and still nothing materializes! Oh man, my unemployment checks are running out! It's estimated that human resources jobs in Houston will be harder to get for some time to come. Now, if you or your family is independently wealthy, then the shortage of human resources jobs in Houston won't bother you in the least. More than likely though, you're part of the 99% of Americans that actually need to work. This is especially true if you're a new college graduate and you are now trapped with student loans that will probably take you the next ten years to pay off. You may be out of luck for some time to come.Human resources jobs in Houston - I'll take anything for now!If you are actively searching for one of the available Human resources jobs in Houston, you may be faced with the possibility of taking a position that you don't really wantor like, just to have some work to pay the essential bills. You think "I'll take that assistant position" or worse, that unpaid intern position for a while so at least your in the organization. Kind of the opposite of that corner office position you got your degree for, huh? Some of you may not even have that option. I know a civil engineer who had no choice but to take a retail assistant manager position just to put food on the table. You do what you have to. Believe me this statement is coming from a guy who framed houses to running a warehouse forklift! Adult education and human resources jobs in HoustonYou hear this all the time. Getting an advanced degree will help open a few doors. At least that's what the colleges and universities and countless online schools want you to believe. Think about it though. What made that Master's degree or Doctorate stick out to a potential employer in the past? The fact that only a small percentage of people had them! What's so special about them if most people have them in your particular field? Who's making the money? Not you! You can't even get an interview! The colleges and universities are the ones making the money. Another thing to consider. Do you really have the time to take those courses? How long is it going to take you to finish and get that degree? One, two, maybe more years? It's not going to help you now. It may help in one or two years! Realistically, it's not an option. Another opportunity to consider. How about starting your own business? This is an opportunity most people won't choose. It means risk. It means responsibility. It means personally answering for the mistakes you make to your client. The flip side is it also means greater rewards. It means freedom from answering to anyone but yourself. Many people will never even contemplate their own business. They think they can't start one because they don't have much money to invest into it. Or they're missing an idea that they think will be "the one big thing" in terms of something they could sell or offer. If you are one of the out-of-work masses today, you've probably realized that times are definitely tough. Many ex-employees have sworn that they will never again work for a "boss" or another company. They hold no llusions of security that they once had. Reality check! All one really has to rely on is their own ability and that it's not the smartest thing to rely on others, tax dollars, appropriations, or the government for your long-term livelihood. I know! I was laid off twice in one year!!Alternatives to human resources jobs in HoustonToday there are many home-business opportunities which cost very little to get started and which can be very lucrative and personally rewarding. With the internet available as a tool for promotion there have never been so many opportunities for making money from home. From affiliate marketing to selling your own goods, to online trading, to network marketing for residual income, the options are so many that it's almost overwhelming. The point to take away here is that starting you own home business isn't the nightmare most people think it is and doesn't have quite the sizable barriers that it once did.One thing I've found is that many online home business opportunities can be done on a part-time basis. One needs to remember that one gets out of any business what they put in. The difference is that once the home business is set up and running, especially an internet business, many aspects of the business can be automated, giving you the time freedom that many are looking for. There really is no need to compete for the limited number of human resources jobs in Houston.
