Bandipur, located in Karnataka is soaked with natural beauty that makes it a prime tourist attraction in the south of India. These trained elephants provide rides to the tourist and are also trained to perform puja to Lord Vinayaka. This trip to the sanctuary will last an entire day and the tour operators will take you back to your hotel at the end of the day. The other famous bird sanctuary is at Ranganathittu. It is located about 88 kilometres from Bandipur National park.

Some of the wild life birds that you may get to see here are the fairy bluebirds, spoonbills, snake bird, heron, little cormorants and open bill storks. These are some of the exotic and rare bird species found in the forest of Bandipur. Bandipur has its closest airport at Bangalore. Tourist usually takes a 5 day tour of this place from Bangalore.
