Creating A Landing Page To Generate Leads For Your Online Home Business
![Profile Picture](https://www.123articleonline.com/images/avatar-default.jpg)
When it comes to marketing your online home business, getting traffic is only half the battle.
When you’re putting in the time, effort—and in the case of paid traffic, money—you need to do everything in your power to make sure visitors take action.
In this post, I’d like to hand you a few valuable tips on creating a landing page that grabs attention, generates interest, and converts would-be lost visitors into engaged subscribers.
Let’s dig in!
Home Business Landing Page Tip #1 - Keep. It. Simple!
We’re only trying to collect leads, not a run a background check on everyone.
In other words, only try to collect the information you absolutely need.
If you’re not going to follow-up with subscribers by phone, don’t require a phone number.
If you’re not keen on using their name for your messages, ditch the name forms and leave only the e-mail for them to fill in.
(Common sense, really...)
The more steps in any marketing process, the less inclined people will be to follow through...even if it benefits them!
(See why it’s so important ...
... to keep people engaged?)
Home Business Landing Page Tip #2 - Keep Your Message (And Offer) Consistent
If visitors are landing on your page from a paid ad, keep the message in line with what your advertisement promised.
In some cases, such as PPC advertising, it’s good to include the same keywords you targeted in your ad itself.
This lets visitors know—whether it’s immediately obvious or not—that they’ve reached the correct page.
No matter where visitors are coming from, make sure that you keep your promise and they receive whatever incentive you’ve offered to sign up.
If the offer changes, make sure your copy (the text on your landing page) and any follow-up messages reflect it...lest you confuse them and they run for the unsubscribe or slap your IP with a quick click of the spam button.
Home Business Landing Page Tip #3 - Make Your Opt-in Clearly Visible
If there’s one thing you don’t want to do on your landing page, it’s making your visitors work to sign up.
To avoid this, make sure to keep your opt-in form (and the most important copy where possible) above the fold.
“The fold” is the point where a user has to scroll to continue reading your message.
If you can entice them in the first bit of copy, and have your opt-in form clearly displayed...visitors are much more likely to take action.
Home Business Landing Page Tip #4 - Keep Your Readers In Mind
This applies in two ways:
1. Even if you’re describing your product, make what you say about how it will benefit your reader.
2. When you’re done designing your landing page, keep what others may think about it in mind.
Finish it, then walk away for a bit to clear your mind.
When you come back, you’ll hopefully be able to view your page with a fresh, unbiased perspective.
A great rule of thumb is to see whether or not your landing page can grab attention within the first few seconds of viewing it.
If you’re too attached to what you’ve written, try asking a few others to view your page and ask what they thought within the short amount of time.
Of course, some people are just too nice and may only say what they know you want to hear, so you should ultimately plan to test different versions of your page.
So, take this short list of tips...bookmark the page or print them out...and use them to make sure your next landing page is designed to help make your online home business a success!
