How To Reach – Udaipur To Mount Abu
Mount-Abu, also known as Abu Parvat is located in the Aravalli ranges of the Shirohi district in the state of Rajasthan. This mountain forms a distinct rocky plateau and is a favorite hill station in Rajasthan. The highest peak on the mountain is Guru Shikhar at about 1772 meters above sea level. It is referred to as 'an oasis in the desert', as its heights are home to rivers, lakes, waterfalls and evergreen forests.
Udaipur is yet another major tourist destination in Rajasthan and is one of the major cities in the state. Mount-Abu and Udaipur are usually clubbed together in all the tour packages to Rajasthan. Mount-Abu is situated at a distance of about 167 km away from Udaipur. It takes a total travel time of about 2 hours and 50 minutes to reach Mount-Abu from Udaipur.

Rajasthan State Road Transport Corpration runs buses from Udaipur to Mount-Abu that charges about 100 rupees per person. The distance between Udaipur and Mount-Abu is covered taking a travel time of about 4 hours, by bus.
Taxis and car rental services are also available to reach Mount-Abu from Udaipur. They charge from 4000 rupees to 7000 rupees round the trip depending upon the type of vehicle chosen.
The driving direction from Udaipur to Mount-Abu can be explained in a confined manner as follows. Head northeast on RMV Road toward Lake Palace Road, take right towards Bapu Bazar Road, turn left at Bapu Bazar Road. Take the first right toward SH 32 or NH 76 or NH 8. Turn left at SH 32 or NH 76 or NH 8. Continue to follow NH 76. Go through 1 roundabout. Take sharp left at NH 14. Turn right to stay on NH 14. Turn right at Major District Road 60 or MDR 60. Take right at Neelam and turn left towards the destination, Mount-Abu.
Bus journey between Udaipur and Mount-Abu is recommended for backpackers, individual travelers and youngsters. Car journey is suited for families with kids and senior citizens.
