Melbourne Is Almost Through The Winter
The winter for 2012 is almost up for everyone in the southern hemisphere and for anyone visiting Melbourne in Australia this time of the year, they can expect to see the start of the change of seasons. You will still get your odd days where the temperature drops below the cool levels and it becomes necessary to put on the extra sweater or jersey to ensure that you don’t catch a cold while you are on holiday there. As the year progresses into September, things start to warm up a little and you no longer need to worry about the cold so much. If you are planning to visit Melbourne within the next month or two then make sure that you pack one or two warm items just in case.
Even if you are get there before the end of august and you catch the last little bit of winter you can still make sure that you stay at a Melbourne hotel that is warm and cosy. That way you can stay indoors and enjoy the view through the window of your hotel suite. Even if you got completely snowed in, you could stay nice and toasty inside your room watching satellite television ...
... and ordering room service. Admittedly that is not the ideal situation for a holiday because you really want to be able to get out and see the place instead of sitting there counting the blocks on your roof or watching the cars drive past your hotel room. Melbourne actually has a whole host of fun activities for everyone of all ages and if you honestly get bored while you are there, then you are not making enough effort to try and enjoy your trip. There are a number of winter festivals happening in Melbourne and just outside it in a neat little place called St Kilda. The St Kilda festival is a great way to spend your day relaxing with friends and enjoying everything the festival has to offer. You can attend the Melbourne film festival, the annual writer’s festival and you can even bring your kids along to enjoy the biggest outdoor ice skating rink in the southern hemisphere. Even if you prefer to stay away from the festivals you can take a boat trip up river and explore the Yarra River.
You can sample some of the best wines that Australia has to offer in the Yarra valley or take your kids on a real steam engine train. No matter what your preference, there is guaranteed to be something for you to do there this winter.
