The interiors of the Mandir are elegantly decorated with floral motifs, images of dancers and musicians and the geometric patterns that exemplify the architecture Shahjahani. A little further from the Gauri Shankar Mandir is the State Bank of India building on the opposite side of the sidewalk. The building was built on the estate of Samru Begum in 1806 and is one of the most significant milestones in Chandni Chowk. The building was formerly used by the Bank of New Delhi and London, but since 1955, has been with the SBI. This three-story building, features high ceilings, colonial style gateposts and large openings in prison on the first floor, which retains its historic character.
