Curtain And Drape Accessories For Your Home
Looking for decorative drapery rods to adorn your windows is just as exciting as choosing your window curtains. Drapery rods are widely available and they can enhance your cheap window designs, providing you with a more elegant look. No matter where you get your window treatments from, drapery hardware will still be a necessity. They are necessary in attaching your drapes and curtains over your windows. They are sold in different types and it is important to be familiar with each of them before any purchase.
Curtain Rods
Regardless of what type of curtain fabric or any kind of drapes you use to decorate your windows, you will need curtain rods as a support in hanging up your curtains. These rods are made up of different materials such as constructed bamboo, wood, and steel.
Before purchasing any decorative curtain rods, it is important to first identify your windows’ exact measurements to ensure proper fitting of these rods. But in case your rods won’t fit and are shorter, there are extension curtain rods that you can use. If you wish to hang draperies that can be adjusted by utilizing a pull cord or ...
... wand, traverse rods are right for you.
Traverse rods are available in two types. Choosing which type to use depends on how you want your drapes to open and close. A one-way traverse rod will allow you to pull your draperies to only one side of the window while a two-way traverse rod will pull at once your draperies on both sides of your window – left and right side.
If however you don’t want to use the pull cord feature, then you may simply just use a regular curtain or drapery rod. Standard curtain rods are a perfect fit for the mounted brackets above or close to your windows. You may also use straight rods if you want to add stylish finials to both ends.
Finials
Finials are known to be decorative elements that are usually attached to the ends of decorative drapery rods. They are available in a wide array of materials and designs. They can be made up of glass, wood, iron, or you may even get fabric-covered finials. Finials are not really necessary but they can still add beauty to your curtain designs. They can either be simple or classy, old or modern and can certainly give you outstanding benefits towards enhancing your window designs.
Rings
Depending on how your draperies are built, you may or may not use curtain rings. Take note that not all draperies and curtains would need rings to attach them to your curtain rods. Nonetheless, rings will allow you to easily glide your draperies or curtains along the rod without getting jammed. They are also helpful if your rods are not smooth, allowing your curtains to not get stuck. They can also give you decorative feel and are available in different styles. Usually, rings come with either a clip or an eyelet. You can simply clip your rings onto the drapery or pin your draperies through the eyelet to hang them.
Generally, drapery hardware is not just a way to hang your curtains or draperies but it is also used as a decorative element for your house.
