Mobile marketing is one of the newest methods of marketing that businesses are using to spread the word of their shops. Online SMS offers the businesses a response from the majority of people they target within as few as four minutes of receiving the text or email message.

Online SMS is the action of sending a text message to mobile devices or an email that can be read from mobile devices to people that the business owner believes will be interested in the goods or services that they have to offer. The sending of online SMS is relatively new in the advertising world and is still a little expensive to do.

In order to perform online SMS the business has to obtain the email addresses or the mobile device numbers of people that use these items and might also be interested in their products and services. To obtain these lists of numbers the business will become affiliated with another business that sells something that can accessorize the products they sell. If the consumer that receives the messages on their mobile devices does not want to receive any more of them they will be offered a method of opting out of the service so that no one else calls them or sends them an email or text. It is very easy for the consumer to opt out of these messaging services and the companies that send them will honor the wishes of the consumer. It does a company no service to send messages to someone that does not want them because if they make that person angry they are likely to tell other people of this fact and cause them to have form an opinion of the company before giving their products or services a fighting chance.

Mobile marketing is the advertising means of the future. Fewer and fewer people are actually paying to receive a newspaper. The news paper was once the most favored means of marketing but if fewer people actually purchase and read them then the advertisements will be reaching a smaller target audience. Most people read their newspapers online and the advertisements that are placed online are easier to ignore or bypass when the consumer is reading the material that caught their interest.

The second most popular means of getting the message about your product out was a radio advertisement but these are not as effective today because fewer people listen to the radio stations that have commercial sponsors. More people listened to program music play lists that they create for themselves or they listen to radio stations that charge for their services and they do not have commercial breaks between their song lists.

Most people own a device that can get mobile marketing messages in the form of text messages or emails. So the best way to send these messages is through these devices.
