Himachal is an area with great features that will make your trekking experience interesting and worth remembering. Trekking distances vary depending on the individual skills and experience. Some trekking distances/ routes will require no experience while some will require some experience. The level of experience needed is dependent on distance, infrastructure, and altitude among many other things. For example people with no experience are likely to take a trekking experience with good infrastructure and low altitude contrary to highly experienced individuals who would go for difficult trails and longer distances. Things you will need
Depending on the duration of your stay you will require certain things for survival and to make your experience more interesting. Warm clothing is the most important. Most of the areas in Himachal have favorable climate for outdoor activities thus making trekking easy especially during summer. People are advised to trek on summer and avoid winter, as the risk of getting involved in encountering an accident is increased in winter. There are various mountain ranges with valleys in between which acts as trekking routes. There are also forests with trekking routes. Trekking in Himachal, can be a very tiresome experience especially if you are doing it for the first time. To avoid this make sure you do a lot of exercises prior to the trekking experience. You may also experience very harsh weather. Be prepared for this and bring along warm clothing to keep you warm. Take in to consideration your current health condition/ history, as the weather, food and other factors can cause one to fall sick during the trekking experience.
