Hot Tub Drinks That Will Impress Your Guests
While soaking in your hot tub, it is vital to drink plenty of fluids to remain hydrated. Water and fruit juice will certainly do the job, but they are not very exciting, particularly when you are entertaining friends in your hot tub. Ontario summers encourage sociability. If you are throwing a hot tub party, add a touch of creativity to your refreshments by serving mocktails, smoothies and flavoured ice teas.
Hot Tub Mocktails:
Alcoholic cocktails are not a good choice for hot tub refreshments, because the heat of the hot tub will intensify the effects of the alcohol. The combination of hot tubs and alcohol can be risky. However, alcohol-free cocktails, or mocktails, make a tasty to water or fruit juice when you are entertaining in your hot tub. You can either mix up combinations of fruit juice and soda to suit your own taste or you can take your inspiration from classic cocktails.
To make an alcohol-free Mai Tai, simply pour orange juice, pineapple juice and club soda in to a tall glass. Add a dash of grenadine and a couple of teaspoonfuls of cream coconut. Mix all the ingredients together and add ...
... some ice. Experiment with Mai Tai mocktail variations based on your favourite fruit juices. For example, you could replace the pineapple juice with mango juice or peach juice for a refreshing alternative.
Hot Tub Smoothies:
Smoothies look fabulous by the side of a hot tub, but they are deceptively simple to make. Frozen fruit is ideal for making smoothies. If you keep a supply of fruit in your freezer, you can whip up a hot tub smoothie in less than ten minutes.
For a delicious hot tub smoothie, place a banana in a blender with a handful of strawberries and some chopped mango. Give them a quick whizz. You can add sugar, if you prefer your smoothie a little sweeter, and milk, if you prefer a runnier consistency. Pour the smoothie in to a glass and garnish with small chunks of strawberry and banana skewered on a cocktail stick.
Flavoured Iced Tea:
Iced tea is an ideal choice when you want to remain hydrated in your hot tub on a hot summer’s day. If you want to liven it up a little for a hot tub party, use flavoured tea bags, such as mint, raspberry or camomile. Add a handful of fresh herbs to the jug to give it a sophisticated look.
Hot Tub Accessories:
To make it easier to serve drinks to your hot tub guests and to avoid spillages, invest in hot tub accessories such as a spa caddy that pivots round. This allows you guests to move the tray out of their way when they are relaxing in the hot tub. Alternatively, an inflatable spa caddy can hold drinks and snacks out of the water.
