4 Easy Steps To Clean A Clogged Print Head
Whether or not you will regularly use your printer eventually the time will come when the print head becomes clogged with dried ink. When this happens you will be printing a less than quality printouts, which can be bad for business or your school project. Fortunately there are ways on how to fix print head and the clogged ink problems and you don’t even need a technician to do it, because you can do it by yourself with ordinary household tools.
However, please remember that we are only limited to specific parts on the printer or particularly the print head. Do not attempt to unscrew or tamper any other part of the printer that has not been mentioned in these instructions. You may damage the entire unit by doing so and it will be a costly mistake. In any case cleaning the print head is not that difficult and it will neither consume too much time, in fact you can clean it under an hour. If your printer has a built-in self-cleaning feature then utilize that before you go into manual cleaning. Here are 4 ways on how to resolve your clogged print head problems:
1. Pour out a distilled water or ethyl alcohol on a ...

2. Prepare some cotton swabs and microfiber cloth to be used later in cleaning the print head. This is the first step on how to fix print head problems.
3. First you use the cotton swabs and soak them thoroughly into the distilled water or alcohol in the cup. Then swipe it out the print head’s nozzles to clean the dried ink build-up blocking the nozzles.
4. Use the microfiber cloth to wipe any liquid residue off of the print head. You may also use an electric fan, a hair dryer or just let it dry by allow the liquid residue to evaporate into the air. Once the print head is dried out you can replace it back to the printer and print a sample page to see how well the print quality is this time. You’ll be able to fix print head in no time by following these instructions.
If you’ve done all the automatic and manual cleaning procedure and it’s still not giving you a high quality printout, then take it to the nearest authorized repair shop, or just buy a new print head to replace the old one. But for practicality purposes manual cleaning will actually help you save money on repair costs, which is why it is best to tinker with your printer first before you buy a replacement or have a professional fix print head.
