Having an targeted search engine optimization (SEO) plan for your business grows in importance each passing day. After all, the ways of the consumer world have truly gone digital, with google alone driving somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 billion searches everyday.

Organic search results (also called natural search results) are those that appear in the main list. These placements cannot be bought but, instead, are pulled by web crawlers used by the various search engines. These web crawlers go in, search sites and, based on the words contained within, pull the sites that are most relevant to the searchers criteria.

Most SEO experts would agree that there are three key requirements when it comes to properly executing a sound Search Engine Optimization plan.
1.) Site content needs to be accessible. It is surprising that in this day and age, even some of the most polished web sites and some of the biggest companies don’t show up in organic search results, simply because they have failed to follow the first basic principle of SEO theory.
2.) Keywords need to work toward your objectives. You need to make sure that the words you use to define your online existence clearly reflect what you do. There are two essential ways to look at keywords; either as simple branding opportunities or as conversion opportunities. The words you chose for keywords are based on which of these two methods you decide to pursue. For conversion, you want to make your keywords as specific as possible to your business. If you simply want to get your name out there and be a player in organic search, broader keywords are recommended.
3.) Metrics must be generated on a regular basis. This is really a very logical thing. With the Internet, getting an accurate read on what’s going on with your marketing money is easier than it has ever been with any other medium at any time in the past. Today, good SEO providers can provide you with a comprehensive list of consumer data for your site, so that you not only know what’s working and what’s not, but you can have a clear understanding of your ROI.
