Ideally, home décor has to be a combination and blend of personal taste, resources as well as accessories that one has collected over a huge period of time. With careful planning and arrangement of each of the element of the home décor, one can achieve the best possible look for one’s home. However, it must be remembered that in our pursuit of excellence, sometimes, one might also go overboard without knowing that one’s gone overboard. One has to avoid going overboard in order to avoid committing blunders when it comes to home decoration.
Here are certain don’ts that have to be kept in mind when it comes to home decoration-
Bulky furnishing is a big no no when it comes to home décor. Come to think of it, would you wear clothes that are over-sized?! You wouldn’t! So, by the same logic, you should not have furnishing in your home that looks like a misfit and doesn’t match up with the space in your room! You should measure the space at hand and then plan out your furnishing options before you set out to buy them for your home!
Using extremely different patterns, prints, colors together is a home ...
... décor faux pas! It is true that variety adds spice to life. But it is also true that if one uses décor pieces just for the heck of it, one would end up making one’s home décor look awful. All the elements in home décor should blend and mix well together. You need to plan the color scheme and pattern for your home décor. Matching different elements including laminate colors would be good idea!
Placing all the furnishing items against walls is a total no no! Usually Indian homes have all their furnishing placed at the sides of the room and the center of room is left vacant. It is thought that doing so would make the room look bigger but it is not the truth. Interesting angular placement of furniture would make the room look nicer and more interesting!
Thinking that plants are supposed to be kept outside the home is a big mistake! Plants can prove to be the greatest of accessories for one’s home. Plants add beauty as well as the element of nature into one’s home décor. One can also opt for Greenguard certified products offered by laminate manufacturers to ensure an environment friendly décor but having plants around one’s house makes for the most brilliant ways to instill nature and green-environment in one’s living!
