Ever thought of transforming your basement area into a home theatre area or a recreation room? It would be an amazing idea to have a basement area totally dedicated to the purpose of recreation. Although it is very sad to see basement areas being treated like dumping areas in most of the homes. It is not at all a good idea to treat the basement area as storage spaces. In order to turn these areas into entertainment zones, party spaces etc. one must take care of these little tips-
De-cluttering the area
Throw away all the cartons, bags, boxes etc. You do not want the space to look cluttered, right? Obviously, it is understandable that you wish to utilize some space of your basement to stock and store your stuff but if you really want the space to look like a space that’s meant for recreation, you seriously need to de-clutter the area. Clutter can take away the best of space in your basement and can even add to the feeling of claustrophobia. Create a spacious basement recreation area for you and your family! You can create a partition space in the area and use one side of the partition for storing your things.

Ensure that the basement space has good and comfortable seating. The space must have proper couches, chairs and even mattresses laid out on the floor. You can sit, relax, sleep while watching the movie or simply lounge around on the mattress to enjoy your recreation time in the area! To store your DVDs, CDs and other things you can have high pressure laminate surfaces installed in the basement. Even to stack your books, just in case you want to read in peace in your basement area, you can have countertops installed with great decorative laminate designs which not just area functionally great but are aesthetically pleasing!
Appropriate lighting and air
Basement areas are spaces where sunlight doesn’t reach too well. Even the air doesn’t seem fresh when it comes to basement areas. There should be good lighting installed in the area and the area must have good ventilation too. Good amount of sunlight and air makes the area look fresh and lively. You can relax and enjoy in a room better if the room is well-lit and well-ventilated.
