Significance Of Flowers Of Various Colors
Scientifically speaking, flowers get their colors from different factors such as a plant’s pigment, exposure to UV rays, pollination and environmental factors. But if you see it spiritually, nature has bestowed us with different colored flowers to help us express ourselves better. Ever since the dawn of civilization, flowers have been used to communicate feelings of love, happiness, friendship and a lot more.
Here is an overview of the significance that different colored flowers, ranging from brown flowers to pink, purple and even those in black.
Brown flowers- Brown is a neutral color which is associated to earth. The color signifies masculinity and stability. In that sense, flowers of brown color have a calming effect in the environment they are kept in. The color is also known to stimulate the appetite, which is why coffee and chocolate are brown in color. That’s why, brown colored flowers work as great accompaniment to a box of chocolates. Purple flowers- Purple color stands for success and pride. Thus, purple colored flowers are perfect for congratulating a friend who has just started a new venture or got promoted in his job. In terms of environment, they work great for weddings as well as annual celebrations of an organization.
Lavender flowers- The color Lavender stands for understated elegance and femininity. In that sense, lavender colored flowers are ideal for congratulating a mom-to-be or for someone you want to confess your love to in a most subtle manner.
Black flowers- Strictly speaking, nature does not give us any black flowers. Flowers that appear black are actually very dark shades of purple and maroon. The color black stands for power and mystic. At the same time, it is also associated with death and mourning. Thus, black colored flowers should never be used alone. They must also not be given to loved one or used on special occasions. These flowers are used on funerals or other days of mourning. However, that’s not their only use. I you want to create a certain element of mystic in a surrounding, using them with bright colored flowers can create a powerful aura in the surrounding.
Yellow flowers- The color yellow is associated with sunshine. It signifies well-being and joy. Thus, a bunch of yellow flowers is sure to perk someone up who is feeling low lately.
